New Opportunities In Elegant Lancashire Tactics

The oldest child leaving your school was 11. This boy was 13 - barely two years older than the children you were teaching. "This was an appalling catalogue of disgusting and vile behaviour towards, and involving, this child." Dooling admitted 13 offences against the boy, including six charges of engaging in sexual activity with a child, five counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity and two charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, all committed in October, 2010. While on police bail, he filmed naked men in the changing rooms at a gym in York. Prosecutor Matthew Bean said Dooling was arrested in March 2011 at the primary school where he worked. His computer was later seized and webcam footage of the boy, stored by Dooling for several years, was discovered by the police. Dooling met the boy through dating apps, Mr Bean said. The teacher had a boyfriend at the time and realised the child was only 13. On the first webcam session, he told him: "Hey beautiful, you look amazing." Dooling pestered the boy to perform lewd acts in front of him and told him to expose himself. Both he and the child performed sex acts on themselves. Mr Bean said Dooling had sex with his male partner for the boy to watch on the webcam. Dooling also filmed partially clothed and naked men in the gym changing rooms and kept the moving images.

Recent Local News In Brighton

Tuesday 28 April 2015 09.05EDT Last modified on Tuesday 28 April 2015 19.20EDT Britains first directly elected Muslim mayor, forced to step down after a judge found him guilty of corrupt and illegal practices , is to challenge the decision through the courts. In a statement on his website today, Lutfur Rahman said that the election court ruling which kicked him out of office as Tower Hamlets mayor was marred by bias, slurs and inaccuracies. Any legal challenge by Rahman will not stop a rerun of the boroughs election, due to be held on 11 June. He will be banned from taking part, but his party, Tower Hamlets First, is expected to put up a candidate. Related: Tower Hamlets: how a dictatorship flourished in the East End | Nick Cohen The statement reads: Lutfur Rahman will be appealing the judgment made against him at last Thursdays election court. He continues to reject all claims of wrongdoing and we hold that the integrity of the court system was marred by the bias, slurs and factual inaccuracies in the election judgment. Four Tower Hamlets petitioners launched the bid in the election court to force Rahman from office. Richard Mawrey QC ruled on Thursday that Rahman would be barred from running for office for five years and said the 2014 Tower Hamlets mayoral election would have to be rerun. Rahman and his supporters were found to have used religious intimidation through local imams, vote-rigging and wrongly branding his Labour rival a racist to gain power. Rahman, who has been banned from seeking office again, was also found to have allocated local grants to buy votes. He was ordered to pay immediate costs of 250,000 from a bill expected to reach 1m. Mawrey predicted that Rahman would characterise his judgment as yet another example of the racism and Islamophobia that have hounded him throughout his political life. The statement on Rahmans website continued by claiming that it was wrong for the judgment to characterise The Tower Hamlets First party, which was led by Rahman, as a one-man band. We support Lutfur Rahman as a party because he has led in delivering record numbers of social and affordable homes, investing in our young people with maintenance allowances and university grants and standing up to Tory and Labour austerity, the statement said. Rahmans supporters have also criticised the court ruling as an anti-democratic coup and described the respected judge in the case as self-evidently partisan in an online petition. Rahmans website is encouraging readers to sign the 38 Degrees petition , which has so far attracted more than 5,800 backers.

It is in the heart of Mayfair, its got great heritage, its been an important station. But it has not been used for 80 years. The challenge we have is, in a complex difficult space what uses can we bring to this station? How can we bring it back to life? Facebook Twitter Pinterest Graeme Craig of Transport for London inside Down Street station. Photograph: Hannah McKay/PA Its not straightforward we have spent months trying to work through whether it can be used at all. We are now confident that it can be. Down Street station opened on the Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway in March 1907, but was used by few passengers owing to its proximity to stations at Hyde Park Corner and Dover Street (now Green Park), and the reluctance of Mayfairs residents to use public transport. The station later played a role in the war when it was used as the protected underground headquarters for Churchills railway executive committee, and the war cabinet until the Cabinet War Rooms became available. It is believed the location close to Westminster made it popular with Churchill. A disused bathtub in the living quarters still bears the inscription WC. TfL is seeking to lease out part of the station to businesses who have the ability to use the space to create something exceptional and establish the next chapter in the stations history. Craig said: The combination of space, history and location, makes this a unique opportunity. We are looking for a partner with the imagination to see the potential here and the capability to deliver it.

The new campaign, which launched this week, was instigated by a survey that found one in 10 Londoners experienced unwanted sexual behaviour on public transport, but only 10% reported it to the police.

The "Report it to Stop it" video shows a woman encountering several scenarios while commuting on the Tube. After each the narrator asks the audience: "Would you report it?"

"The man in the grey suit is starring at you. Would you report it? ... He finds an excuse to lean into you. Would you report it? He pushes his groin right into you," the narrator says before the woman hurries off the Tube.

Verizon Thinks Unlimited Data Is Bad For Customers

Verizon Thinks Unlimited Data Is Bad For Customers | Ubergizmo

verizon signIt used to be at one point in time that carriers were tripping over each other to offer customers unlimited data plans, however recently carriers such as AT&T and Verizon have done away with those plans which we"re sure many customers can"t be too happy about. However according to Verizon, the company seems to be thinking that they"re doing customers a favor.

The carrier recently published an opinion piece written by analyst Jack Gold (via Ars Techica) in which Gold attempts to reason as to why giving customers unlimited data is not good for them. For starters Gold points out the ubiquity of high-speed wireless networks which makes the need for unlimited data moot.

He claims that "users are very well served by current wireless data plans, and really don"t require more. So, while unlimited data may sound attractive, there is no practical effect of data limits on the majority of users." Gold also states that if all customers had unlimited data, the strain it would place on Verizon"s network would be immense.

So much so that the carrier would be forced to continuously seek upgrades to maintain their services. According to Gold, "Much like highways that need to be widened for peak rush-hour traffic, this would require major investments that someone would have to pay for"that someone being the subscribers."

The carrier already has a system in place in which they will throttle the speeds of grandfathered unlimited users who fall under the carrier"s heavy internet users list, but what do you guys make of this piece? Does Verizon have a valid argument for not offering unlimited data plans?

Roomies for Married Couples: NYC Real Estate's Latest Assault on Dignity

Roomies for Married Couples: NYC Real Estate's Latest Assault on Dignity

Roomies for Married Couples: NYC Real Estate's Latest Assault on Dignity

Just when you think living in New York can't get any dumber, the New York Times' Real Estate section arrives. This Sunday New Yorkers were treated to a story on married couples who've taken roommates into their already too-small apartments. Because money's already tight and you can't afford a place just for the two of you, how much worse could it get sharing a fridge with 22-year-old Tyler?

The story"sweetly titled "Married, With Roommates""features interviews with several married NYC couples who claim that living with a roommate ain't so bad. After all"this is New York! How else are you going to make it if you don't squeeze money from every square inch you possibly can? The couples explain that if it were anywhere else, it'd be different:

"If we were in Iowa, it would be weird," said Josh Jupiter, 28, who, with his wife, Isabel Mart?n Pi?eiro, 26, recently posted an ad on SpareRoom.com seeking a roommate to share the two-bedroom, one-bath apartment they rent in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. "If we were in Michigan, it would be weird. In New York City, it"s like, "How many people can you cram into an apartment, married or not"? We live in one of the most expensive cities in the world."

According to the Times, the median monthly rent for a Manhattan apartment in March of 2015 was $3,395. Even when newlyweds have substantial dual incomes, that is often not enough to live in a place alone. But the Real Estate section, committed as always to New York City property boosterism, explains how to make it work: Set up certain rules and boundaries, some as Lindsay Shields, a high school drama teacher, explains here.

"We"ve had roommates before who are big cooks and those that are takeout-friendly. We do not take their shelves even if they don"t use them," she said. If anyone plans to have more than four guests over at a time, he or she must give the other roommates a heads-up. "We also have found it easier to keep things to a flat fee," she said, noting that dividing up utility bills, Internet, cable and other fees can be "exhausting and tedious."

These are good rules, but wouldn't these couples rather be walking around naked and having spontaneous sex on the couch? Stuart Higa Fox, a writer, acknowledges the tradeoff:

"I would have liked to have more sex on the couch, but we ended up saving on our cable bill."

Related StoriesIsrael election: Are you voting?Israel warns over Iran nuclear deal WatchIsrael profile Israelis vote in the second snap election in two years on 17 March, and polls indicate that right-wing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party is facing a serious challenge from the centre-left Zionist Union.

But Israel's proportional representation electoral system means that several other parties will enter the Knesset parliament, and the larger of them will be vital in deciding who forms the next government.

Benjamin Netanyahu

Benjamin Netanyahu is a veteran of Israeli politics who has led Likud twice - in 1993-99, and since 2005.

He has been prime minister at head of a series of coalitions of various colours since 2009, having served a previous term in 1996-99, and has also held several other senior ministerial posts.

He has a reputation for negotiating the volatile party system with skill, but his best efforts failed to maintain a stable parliamentary majority in the Knesset elected in 2013.

His broad coalition collapsed in late 2014, prompting the March elections, and for the first time in years he faces a real danger of losing office to an alliance of centre-left parties.

Israeli Prime Minister and head of the Likud party Benjamin Netanyahu

Born in 1949 into a prominent right-wing political family, Mr Netanyahu spent part of his early life in the United States.

That is where he acquired the fluent English that made him a leading international spokesman for Israel in the 1980s, culminating in his appointment as ambassador to Washington.

"Bibi", as he is known, has a strong following in Likud, based on his impressive electoral record and his hawkish stance on Iran and the question of a settlement with the Palestinians.

But these qualities, combined with his forceful personality, nationalist rhetoric and association with economic liberalism, also make him a divisive figure little liked on the left.

line Yitzhak Herzog

Just as Mr Netanyahu is a product of a conservative political family, so is Yitzhak Herzog a scion of a centre-left Labour Party dynasty.

His father Chaim was president of Israel for 10 years, and his uncle Abba Eban was the country's high-profile foreign minister in the 1960s and early 1970s.

He won the Labour Party leadership election in 2013, and is currently leader of the opposition in parliament and co-leader of the centre-left Zionist Union electoral alliance.

Yitzhak Herzog

Born in 1960 and a lawyer by profession, Mr Herzog served in various middle-ranking ministerial positions between 2005 and 2011, when Labour left the Likud-led coalition.

"Bougie", as Mr Herzog is known, has continued Labour's traditional opposition to Likud's economic polices, accusing the government of depressing Israeli living standards, but has also campaigned aggressively against Mr Netanyahu's foreign policy and alleged neglect of the Palestinian issue.

He has highlighted the fact that he was major in an elite military intelligence unit after Mr Netanyahu - a former special forces officer - accused him of being "soft" on security.

The Zionist Union has been running neck-and-neck with or slightly ahead of Likud in the most recent opinion polls.

line Tzipi Livni

Mr Herzog's co-leader in the Zionist Union is Tziporah "Tzipi" Livni.

Like Messrs Netanyahu and Herzog, she comes from a prominent political family - her father was a leading figure in the ultra-nationalist Irgun armed group during British rule before becoming a more moderate Likud member of the Knesset.

Israeli MP Tzipi Livni

Ms Livni, who was born in 1958, followed in his footsteps, moving steadily from the 'dovish' wing of Likud to her current position as leader of the liberal Hatnua party.

She supported Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's policy of withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, following him out of Likud into the centrist Kadima party, serving as foreign minister before becoming party leader ahead of the 2009 election.

Although Kadima won the most seats, socially-liberal Ms Livni refused to accept the coalition terms demanded by Jewish religious parties and went into opposition.

She later lost the party leadership, and formed HaTnua in protest at what she saw as Kadima's move to the right.

She is a prominent advocate of seeking more cooperation with the Palestinian Authority and Israel's Arab community, and lost her job as Mr Netanyahu's justice minister in 2014 over a range of policy disagreements.

She is one of the few mainstream Israeli leaders to speak out openly in favour of gay rights, and is well-regarded in European, US and, albeit mutedly, many Arab diplomatic circles for her record of pragmatism as foreign minister.

line Yair Lapid

Charismatic journalist and broadcaster Yair Lapid also has politics in the family, as his father and fellow-newsman Yosef "Tommy" Lapid led the firmly secular and relatively hawkish Shinui party from nowhere into government, then back into oblivion in the mid-2000s.

Yair Lapid, born in 1963, formed a similar party - Yesh Atid - from scratch in 2012, and scored a striking success in the following year's election with 19 seats and the post of finance minister in Benjamin Netanyahu's government.

Israeli MP and chairperson of Yesh Atid party, Yair Lapid

Tense relations with his boss and poor ratings for his performance as minister plagued his time in office, which ended when Mr Netanyahu sacked him along with Ms Livni in 2014.

But a vigorous election campaign, in which he has accused the prime minister of "leading Israel into unnecessary elections", looks like ensuring that Yesh Atid will have a smaller but still significant number of seats in the next Knesset and make life difficult for Mr Netanyahu.

line Moshe Kahlon

Moshe Kahlon, a former Likud welfare and communications minister under Benjamin Netanyahu, returned to politics as head of the new Kulanu party with a manifesto based on promoting social equality.

Born in 1960 to Libyan immigrants, he won considerable popularity in office for freeing up the mobile phone market and championing cheap electricity, and stood down from Likud ahead of the 2013 elections.

Israeli politician and popular former Likud minister Moshe Kahlon

Founded at the end of 2014, Kulanu focuses on depressed living standards and has reaped impressive poll ratings.

But it remains an unpredictable player in terms of coalition-forming, as it seeks to appeal to overlapping and possibly contradictory constituencies in the socially-liberal and populist camps.

line Ayman Odeh

The real surprise of the election could be the rise of the predominantly Arab Joint List to third place in terms of Knesset representation.

List leader Ayman Odeh is also head of Hadash, a radical socialist party, and brought together three other Arab nationalist and Islamist parties in a marriage of convenience to boost Arab turnout and block Mr Netanyahu's return to office.

Ayman Odeh

Born in 1974, the lawyer from Haifa raised his profile dramatically with an impressive performance in a prime-time TV debate in February.

The Joint List would not take posts in a government, out of consideration for Palestinians living under Israeli occupation, but would be likely to support a Zionist-Union government.

line Naftali Bennett

The religious party Jewish Home looks set to keep something like its 12 Knesset seats.

Its leader, Naftali Bennett, is a charismatic and eloquent software entrepreneur who balances economic liberalism with a pro-settler stance, and has largely pushed aside the more secular Yisrael Beitenu of Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

Israeli Economy Minister and head of the Jewish Home party Naftali Bennett (C)

Born in 1972 to US immigrants, Mr Bennett is the outgoing minister of the economy.

Like many politicians competing for the same right-wing constituency as Benjamin Netanyahu, Mr Bennett objects to the prime minister's political pragmatism and even accuses him of planning a coalition with the Zionist Union.

But in the next Knesset he, like Mr Lieberman, would almost certainly join any Likud-led government.

Ecuador criticises Sweden over Assange

Ecuador criticises Sweden over Assange

Ecuador has criticised Swedish prosecutors for wasting time after they agreed to interview Julian Assange.

Ecuador has criticised Swedishprosecutors for wasting time and money after they agreed tointerview Julian Assange in the South American country's Londonembassy.

Prosecutor Marianne Ny on Friday performed an about-face byasking Assange to consent to being interviewed inside thediplomatic mission over allegations he sexually assaulted two womenin Sweden in 2010.

'If they had accepted Ecuador's offer to question him (at theembassy) 1000 days ago it would have saved us all a lot of moneyand trouble,' Ecuador's's Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino wrote onTwitter.

'On Monday, Assange will mark 1000 days inside our embassy inLondon.

'From the first day we have offered to let (prosecutors)question him and they didn't do it.'

Ms Ny on Friday said she was now prepared for Assange to bequizzed in the embassy because the statute of limitations on someof the alleged crimes would become effective in August.

The Australian hasn't been charged but he faces allegations ofrape, sexual molestation and illegal coercion.

The latter two allegations expire after five years while rapeexpires after 10 years under the statute of limitations.

Assange supporter John Pilger on Friday described the Swedishprosecutor's offer as 'demonstrably cynical'.

'In finally agreeing to come to London ... she has waited untiljust before Sweden's statute of limitations nullifies herthreadbare case against him,' the Australian-born campaigningjournalist said.

'She has never had a shred of evidence to charge him with anycrime. Her behaviour is scandalous.'

Friday's move came after Assange appealed his 2010 detentionorder to Sweden's Supreme Court which earlier this week asked theprosecutor-general to issue an opinion.

Assange's Swedish lawyer, Per Samuelson, believes Anders Perklevthen ordered Assange be interviewed in London.

'I'm convinced the prosecutor-general after that (court ruling)called Marianne Ny and ordered her to restart thepre-investigation,' Mr Samuelson told AAP.

'I don't believe the other version she has given because why didshe wait so long?

'There's no reason of talk about the statute of limitations nowit has always been there.'

After losing a UK legal battle against extradition Assangeentered Ecuador's diplomatic mission in June 2012 and was grantedpolitical asylum two months later.

The 43-year-old fears if he goes to Sweden he'll be extraditedto the United States and charged over WikiLeaks' release ofclassified documents.

British Consulate and Spain Healthcare Team to host

four free information events this month

Some 45,000 British nationals are believed to live in the Canary Islands but only 32,000* are registered with their local authorities. That means one in three Brits risk missing out on basic social services when in future they need it most.

So the British Consulates in Las Palmas and Tenerife, and the Healthcare Team in Spain that represents the UK's Department of Health, are joining forces with local town halls to tell residents about the importance and benefits of registering for healthcare and other public services.

Discover why you should register on the 'padrón'

Between 24th and 26th February the joint team will host four free information events in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, where British residents can find out why it is worthwhile registering on the 'padrón', get answers to their questions on healthcare and what services the British Consulates offer, and raise any other concerns they may have.

Find out about the new healthcare option for early retirees

The Healthcare Team will also provide information about the new "convenio especial", a special pay-in public health insurance scheme in the Canary Islands for those not otherwise covered for state-run healthcare, such as early retirees. They will also explain how to register for healthcare in general and how to get a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) if you are a worker or a pensioner.

The British Consul for the Canary Islands, Charmaine Arbouin, says:

"Our consular staff all too often see British citizens who are in desperate need of assistance because they have failed to appreciate how important it is to register correctly for healthcare and other social services when living overseas.

"Whether registered or not, I urge all British residents to come to these free information sessions where local consular staff and healthcare representatives will provide reliable, up-to-date information on a wide range of issues."

Admission to all events is free and there is no need to register in advance.

The venues, dates times are:
